Rev. Mo. Alaina Alexander

Rev. Mo. Alaina Alexander has been called to a life of poetry and intimate ministry that has pulled her inexorably toward the work of justice and liberation. As a Co-Abbess of Earthfire Abbey she lives in common and community, seeking to embody daily the radical hospitality of her faith. She is a mystic of interior spaces, finding divinity in humanity and the struggles of anti-fascist anarchist resistance. As a mother, a wife, a pagan minister of the gospel, and a woman of trans experience, she delights in the unique joys afforded by each and the chance to share her rare perspective.

Sacrament of Ashes

& Wild Fig

This dual volume is an exploration of the author's relationship with her trans identity as it wars with and painfully reshapes her calling as a minister and activist. Presented here in two opposing yet complimentary parts this volume of poetry offers a glimpse into the fracture of the author's adversarial worlds and the path she threads to bring them home within herself. In the authors words:

"I invite you into my struggle with God

so that you may, like Jacob, leave changed"
